Don't Limit Local Rule on Plastics

Some Texas legislators are at it again and want to limit local rule in regards to plastic bags.

Texas House Bill 2416 aims to take away local cities rights to enact a plastic checkout bag ban or fee based ordinance as a way to help reduce plastic pollution.  This new bill would roll back the existing bag ordinances in Austin, Brownsville, Fort Stockton, Laguna Vista and South Padre Island.  The bill language was recently introduced and is likely to be updated but we need you to contact your state legislators early and often so they are aware of this BAD BAG BILL.

Various communities around Texas have enacted ordinances to reduce plastic bags and the groundswell is growing as more places see the need to reduce plastic pollution.

Please send a letter TODAY!  Tell your state legislators not to limit local control!
