The Senate will soon vote on a number of dirty water amendments that have been attached to federal spending bills for 2015. One of these amendments would stop the Administration from finalizing the proposal rule to restore Clean Water Act protections to nearly 20 million acres of wetlands, two million miles of streams, and the drinking water for 117 million Americans.
These small streams and wetlands need our protection as they impact the quality and health of downstream tributaries and larger rivers, and ultimately our coasts and the ocean. These upstream waters contribute to our drinking water supplies, provide flood protection and recreational opportunities, and support our thriving recreation and tourism economies.
Tell your Senators to stand strong for clean water and oppose amendments that undermine the Clean Water Act in appropriations legislation.
